Zooanthus sp. Zooanthids are one of the easiest corals to keep. They will spread readily.
Description:
This coral has a fairly short stalk with a flat disc. The tentacles are delicate and radiate from the outside of the disc. The polyps can be connected to each other and frequently are since it propagates by budding.
Lighting - Water flow:
Zooanthids require water currents to bring food and can also be fed small amounts of suitable foods, (zooplankton, brine shrimp nauplii) but will do well without feeding. A strong light source is required for these corals to do well.
Difficulty of Care:
They are easy to keep as long as bright light and iodine is present. Highly recommended for beginners as long as filamentous algae is not allowed to grow.
Aggressiveness:
Not an aggressive species.
