In Store NOW : New coral shipment instore and fish shipment on the way
Posted by Tim on 2010/3/12 23:40:00 (152 reads)

We have some lovely new corals and inverts in the store, and our next saltwater fish shipment is on its way.  The fish are due in on Monday evening from Vanuatu (provided they don't miss their flight), and will be on sale after the 7 day quarantine period.  We are expecting some lovely things, so watch this space for more details and pics when they arrive.

In the meantime, here are some pictures of the coral shipment for your viewing pleasure.  We received a nice selection of corals, some very nice live rock, and some lovely invertebrates.

Come take a look this weekend.  We are now open from 8am on Saturdays for all of you early risers.

In Store NOW : Lots of New Freshwater Fishies
Posted by Kate on 2010/3/2 22:20:00 (114 reads)

Ok, so I know we neglect all of you freshwater lovers on this site, but we promise we will try not to do that anymore.
We have been working hard at expanding our freshwater offerings lately, and we will be continuing to do so.  We are just waiting on a few new tanks to be built which will give us more room in our sales tanks, and we are planning a discus display tank for your viewing pleasure.
Please let us know if there is anything you think we should be stocking, as we want to get in what you want to buy.
We are also working hard on getting all of the new freshwater stock into the online store, so bear with us.

Here are some examples of our current stock (well, the ones that stayed still enough to allow for my lack of photography skills, anyway.  There are plenty more fish available...)

African Cichlids
Dolphin

Electric Yellow

Peacocks

American Cichlids
Firemouth
(These are lovely, and we have both males and females.)

Red Forest Jewel

Red Tiger Oscar

Tiger Oscar

Bolivian Butterfly

Blue Ram

Angels
(We have small, medium and veiltail angels.  The veils are lovely but did not want to be photographed.)

Pearl Gourami

Moonlight Gourami

Striped Dwarf Gourami

Flame Dwarf Gourami

Female Dwarf Gourami

Cochus Blue Tetra

Black Phantom Tetra

Harlequin Rasbora

Blue Panchax
(ok, so they told me they were blue panchax, but I'm a little suspicious because they're not blue and they don't look like other blue panchax I've had, but they're very pretty just the same....)

Gold & "Blue" Panchax

Silver Shark

Redtail Black Shark

Siamese Flying Fox

Albino Rainbow Shark

Gold Algae Eater

Peppered Corydoras Catfish

We also got heaps of guppies in over the weekend, lots of different colours, and both males and females.
We have plenty of plants available as well.  On Monday we received some beautiful Siamese Fighters, including lovely coloured females, and a black and a white crowntail.  I have pictures and will put them up tomorrow.
Come and take a look at what we have!

Team Wonderfish.

Ok, here are the fighter pics:

Females

Males

These guys are very special.  A black and a white crowntail.  We very rarely see these colours.  The black was feeling a bit shy, so my pic of him is not great, but the white really is this beautiful.  We only have one of each of these, so you'll have to be quick.

What's new : Developments both fresh and salt water
Posted by Tim on 2010/2/10 14:00:00 (402 reads)

Hi all,

We have a bunch of new stuff happening, including expanding both our fresh and salt water systems as much as we can afford, some new features on our website and some terrific new stock.

New Freshwater Tanks

We reported earlier that we had the stands up for the extensions to our freshwater system, and now we have some tanks to partially fill it. The rest will come as finances allow. We put in 10 new tanks, so only 6 more to be at full capacity.

New Freshwater Stock

This new capacity has allowed us to stock more new fishes. Our new customers at our new location are asking for different fish than our old customers, so we are changing to fulfil their needs. We are particularly expanding our stocks of discus and cichlids, which have been in great demand. Well, come and get 'em We will have many more arriving in coming weeks and will offer an even better range than we do now. Here is a sample:
Discus-

Red Melon

Red Turquoise

Blue Diamond

Leopard Snakeskin

Cichlids-

Red Forest Jewel

Electric Yellow

Firemouth

Others- Angels

Scissortail Rasbora

We have many more freshwater fish arriving on Thursday 11th February.

New Marine Tanks

We have also installed new marine tanks. We are only one tank short of a full system now We just need new water now to fill them, but the water guy is having a baby or some other weak excuse... (better him than me)

New Marine Stock

We got some nice stuff in from WA this week and much of it walked before we could even get a photo of it. We had some nice clams but are now reduced to just one-

and some lovely Darwin morphs - some good colour here

We are fragging the morphs so that the joy can be shared by many people, so they won't be for sale for a few weeks, but as soon as they are we will have some better pics for you.

We also have some great new inverts, including:
Porcelain crabs-

Peppermint shrimp-

Trochus snails-

and some nice anemones, although they weren't properly out yet when I took these-

We also have received a full range of nice corals, incuding:
Ancora-

Candy cane

The one that everyone always wants to buy from our display tank (mycedium)-

Some nice fungias-

Some green flower leather (very nice)-

Meat polyp-

Pincushion

Scolymia

Torch

Xenia

We have a new section on our website that offers videos of some great fish exhibiting interesting behaviours (hopefully). See our new Video Wasteland here.

These and many other fabulous things await you at Wonderfish. See you soon

Regards,
Team Wonderfish.
